For any of the Olympic movements you should know the different variations:
- Muscle – When you do a Muscle [movement] such as a muscle snatch that means there is no re-bending of the knee. You snatch the weight up and catch it with locked out knees.
- Power – When you do a Power [movement] such as a power snatch that means you can re-bend your knees when you catch the weight. You can catch it as low as you like so long as your hip crease does not go lower than your knee, i.e. do not break parallel.
- Squat – When you do a Squat [movement] such as a squat snatch that means you will catch the weight in your full depth squat. You must break parallel.
